I just saw on the news this morning that the studio with the new Harry Potter movie is pulling it until July 2009 because apparently they get better numbers during the North American summer. I wonder if now we'll get the same Twilight release date as everywhere else...

Warner Bros says it is bumping Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from its planned November US release into next summer.
The sixth instalment in the blockbuster franchise about boy wizard Harry now will open in the US on July 17 rather than November 21, the studio said on Thursday.
Studio President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Horn says the studio has had success with past summer Harry Potter releases, including the fifth movie.
Horn also says the Writers Guild of America strike had "impacted the readiness of scripts for other films - changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of."
Don't lie - you know you wish Edward Cullen was climbing through your window at night :p

The Australian release date for Twilight is the old release date for Harry Potter, December 11th, I asked my boss and he said he doesn't believe it will be changing anytime soon because that's the best spot for it box office wise....start of the christmas holidays with not much in the way of competition.
