I cried, as most people did, when he "broke-up" with Bella, because you could so see that coming. However, I knew he would come back eventually. It was true love after all!

And thus with this book, my hatred for Jacob was formed. I used to like him in Twilight when he wasn't such a brat and he was actually a decent kid. Then I hated him because it was obvious he would try to get with Bella.

I wanted to slap Bella at volterra. :x She could have a least smacked Edward or screamed at him "YOU IDIOIT!" for leaving her even if she was grateful he was alive.
New Moon was kinda boring without Edward there. The whole book is basically "the pain lashed around the edges of the hole."

hmm it wasn't boring, just not dazzling - obviously because edward wasn't there.

but i totally see why bella didn't throw a tatntrum at edward for leaving. he came back.she loves him to death.she was scared he would leave again, why push him further away by making him feel even more guilty and scream at him.

I think at that point, In Volterra that is, Bella was just in such shock, so grateful Edward was still alive and she still believed he didn't love her anymore the last thing on her mind was yelling at him and then by the time she realised that he truly did love her she saw that he was feeling guilty enough for leaving so she didn't want to make it any worse.

Well, I end up crying every time I read it. It hurt so much to read it the first time, but I forced myself to re-read it. It was easier to absorb the story when I knew Edward was coming back.
I kind of hate Jacob sometimes, though.
Bella reminds me too much of myself in some places, too. =/

I adore Jake and I so hope he imprints during BD or signs thereof. I love reading the break-up scene *gets odd looks*. Its just so heart-breaking. Its the most re-read scene in New Moon that I've read. I actually just read it today...about 6 times in a row while I was on hold on the phone.

I did have some trouble getting through the non-Edward middle of the book...but I'm glad that I didn't skip anything.

New Moon is definitely my least favourite of all of them.

The break up is just so depressing. I didnt cry, because apparently i have no emotions (thats what my friend told me, anyway), but it was so sad. And then when she finds the note, and discovers the CD and photos are gone...oh god. So depressing.

I got really bored without Edward there. I had to do the same thing as Mallie and flick to the back of the book to check Edward was coming back.

My hatred for Jacob formed in this book too. I wanted to slap him when he started making moves on Bella. Obviously she wasnt over Edward, but he starts being a sleazebag anyway.

Am I the only one that thought she was being pathetic with the whole 'holding herself together' thing? Because I thought she was just being petty and stupid- i know she lost her true love, but she didnt have holes in her chest, and she is not going to break into pieces. I thought it was a pretty weird reaction, but the whole book was basically about the "holes".

I have only read NM from start to finish once though I do read certain parts again and again like volterra.

I am going to 'conviently' be reading NM when I see my guy friend on Monday so he asks what I'm reading and I can try to convert him to Twilight and Edwardism. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
