After Breaking Dawn.... what does the future hold?

Postby aurelia on Sat Jul 05, 2008 10:48 am

This is from Amazon. Someone, with a lot of time on their hands, gathered up everything SM has confirmed and alluded to in all of her Q&A sessions regarding Breaking Dawn and yes future novels.

Stephenie says: “I do have a fairly intricate outline for book five. That's not including Midnight Sun; that will be the next one. It isn't told from Bella's point of view, but the characters that you know now will remain characters in the story, so like Alice and Jasper, and we'll still have Edward and Bella around.

This TRES exciting news is taken from Evthreads....

hmmm - agreed about Jake... but I don't think she would.... she knows too many ppl hate him lol...
there's rumours that she wanted to do a book from Bree's POV (the young vamp who was captured in the newborn battle)

hmm that would be interesting, but very short. unless i suppose you did her whole life.. but that would be like a side-story thing, not really twilight you know? so i don't think that would be book 5... maybe she'll do a book that switches characters, that'd be pretty cool... to see inside everyone's heads

Not sure how I feel about this. If she writes several more books the series may drag out too long and get poorer in quality with each novel.

i agree, you do't want to keep on writing and end up fizzling out because of weak/crappy plots...but i can't really see Stephenie doing that. we know she's above the rest and want more and more of twilight, but too much can just spoil it.

i can't really pass judgement until book 5 comes out, but how long would we have to wait for that??

and what would this series/book be called if not the continuation of the twilight saga??

changing it from bella's POV can be a good or bad thing...

good) new perspective, change, doesn't drag
bad) it wont be the same, and might be less 'twilighterish'

?? i dunno... im kinda glad that BD is the last one from Bella's POV i guess...

I'm with you there. Only because I really wouldn't want all the magic to fizz out. I guess I don't want it to change; it doesn't really feel the same and "Twilight-ey" if it's told from someone else's POV. I'd happily accept it as a side-on book, but not a continuation of the saga. It's why I firmly believe that Breaking should and will be the last novel - at least from Bella's POV. I know we want more and more and more, but sometimes holding back gives it so much more.

*shurgs* I don't know.
I am ready whenever I am wanted.

think of it as Angel compared to Buffy... (the separate shows - not the characters lol) ...I think 99.9% of the original show's fans loved the spin-off (which managed to last 5 years...)

oh really?! a fifth other than Midnight Sun!! well i'm kind of excited.

I guess because it won't be from Bella's POV that it won't feel like it's being dragged out (I hope!). But i agree with you Cardea, holding back gives it so much more. She can't tell us everything there is to know about the caracters, that's why discussing theories is so much fun.

Either way i'll read the book. I know Midnight Sun will be awesomeee though!
